The list.

Hayden is a list maker. She makes lists when packing to spend the night somewhere. She makes lists to remind herself what she needs to get/finish in the morning before school. She makes lists when she has several tasks to accomplish.

This brings me to tonight.

I know people make "bucket" lists, but I'm not sure what I would call the verbal list Hayden said out loud, with me in the room, possibly to her self, but overheard by me.

We had just finished shaving her legs for the first time( except for the time she used my razor, in my shower and shaved a small patch off one leg around her ankle - seems to be a common routine when one showers in my room).

So here is what I heard:

"Okay, legs shaved. Now I work on makeup, then ears pierced and then a phone."

If only it were that easy.

Pre-K Homework

It has begun. Homework for everybody which, of course, includes ME! The Pre-K assignment: a book about me. I tried to turn this one over to Ben, but something about him wanting to make one and then copy it for the other, discouraged me.

I like to make a statement. Especially with school projects. So, under my watchful eye, Caleb and Joshua created a masterpiece. Today they presented them to the class. The teacher commented when I picked the boys up from school about how well they had done and the class clapped for them. I was surprised and asked if they actually said anything while "presenting" the books. She said, and I quote: "Oh yes, one of them told the class he had no idea why his Mommy put that spaghetti on his favorite foods page, cause he doesn't even like spaghetti."

Good job, buddy. You get your Dad next time.

Day 1

Look who got Day 1 pictures!!

I thought at first that Hayden's lack of enthusiasm was nerves mixed with pre-teen Mommy embarrassment. Unfortunately, it was a virus. She's home sick for day 2.

Ally, however, is ready for the day. She even thought it would look more "official" if she was reading something. It only took 10 minutes to get that notebook back in her school supply stuffed backpack, I mean, messenger bag.

Grand Finale

Our summer swimming grand finale was this weekend. It was the state swim meet in Valley, AL. We had to look it up too . . . it is about 30 minutes east of Auburn. Ally swam the 50 free, Medley relay and free relay. Hayden swam the "A" free relay.

The girls did great, the boys were completely bored and Ben had a fabulous Birthday. Hayden's relay cut 12 seconds off their time to place 2nd by 0.7 seconds. They had been seated 4th. Ally swam her fastest 25 free and dropped 3 seconds from her 50 free.

Here are some pictures from the swim meet. Unfortunately they don't include a picture of the "swim chick" tattoos I bought for the boys or any of the birthday celebration to include a smoothie and frozen coffee from McDonalds.

Only the best for my family!

Hayden swimming HARD!
Ally getting loose for her 50 free. (Who is that man?)
Hayden super psyched about swimming.
Ally breathing and checking out her competition.
